First Navratri – Shailputri Devi, Daughter
of the Himalayas. She is a form of Shakti, the companion of Lord Shiva.

Second Navratri – Bhramcharini
Devi,'Brahma' means 'Tapa' or penace. form of Mata Shakti.
“Om doom durgaya namah”.
Third Navratri – Chandraghanta
Devi,Symbolic representation of beauty and bravery.
“Om sarva mangal mangalye shive sarvarath sadhike,
Sharanye triambake gauri narayani namostute.”
Fourth Navratri – Kushmanda Devi ,
Creator of the entire Universe.
“Om dukha hantraya namah”.
Fifth Navratri – Skandmata Devi,
mother of the chief warrior of the Gods army.
“Om hreeng mahadurgaya namah”
and “Om nityaya namah”.
Note: Each may be chanted separately not
together.
Sixth Navratri – Kaatyayani
Devi, Goddess with three eyes and four hands.
“Om hreeng katyayini namah”.
Seventh Navratri – Kaalratri Devi ,
Meant to make the devotees fearless.
“Durga kshama shiva dhaatri svaha svadhaa Namostute”.
Eighth Navratri – Mahagauri Devi,
Representing calmness and exhibits wisdom.
“Om nitya buddhaya namah”.
Ninth Navratri – Siddhiratri Devi,
It is believed that she has all the eight siddhis and is worshiped by all the
Rishis and Yogis.
